With more eating options available these days, the teenagers usually prefer junk food items like pizzas, burgers, French fries, ice-creams, etc. over healthier food items like fresh fruit juice, green leafy vegetables which are the main reasons behind obesity.

Researches have shown that those people who suffered from obesity during their teenage years have the greater risk of suffering from various ailments during the adult stage. Some teenagers start following a diet program all by themselves and then regret later after seeing the results.

Our body needs balanced amount of carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins and minerals to function properly. So a much better approach to overcome obesity is to adopt a healthier lifestyle and start following a healthy diet plan by curbing on the junk food intake and also by doing exercises which not only will help you in reducing the excessive weight but also will provide the inner strength, a calm and composed mind and a more beautiful or smarter you.

Healthy eating does not mean eating large amount of food at one particular point of time, instead eat at regular intervals and also properly chew the food as it helps in improving the metabolic rate and better absorption of nutrients. Eating at regular intervals will leave your stomach filled for longer time and you will not be craving for foodstuffs.

One thing to remember is that you are solely responsible for being obese and it is only you who can help yourself in overcoming it and thus lead a healthier lifestyle.
